The sun is already shining brightly in Florence and summer is almost here. Here are some key dates for you.

Sunday Services always start at 10:30am and are either at the Methodist Church, Via de’ Benci (just down the road from Santa Croce) OR the Waldensian Church, Via Micheli (behind San Marco church & museum)

September: groups restarting Settembre i gruppi ri-inziano

Welcome back! or Welcome! if you have just moved to Florence. You may have already noticed that the city can be rather hot, and so activities (Sunday services, English Language Fellowship, Coffee & Chaos playgroup) start back a bit slowly during September

Bentornati! oppure Benvenuti! se avete appena arrivati a Firenze. Forse avete già capito che la città potrebbe essere abbastanza calda, quindi le attività (culti domenicale, il gruppo di lingua inglese, Caffé e Caos gruppo gioco) iniziano piuttosto lentamente durante il mese di settembre.

Sunday worship services all start at 10:30am. The Chiesa Valdese (Waldensians) are on Via Micheli. The service is in Italian, with English translation if Alison is preaching. Culti domenicale sempre alle 10,30. La Chiesa Valdese si trova a Via Micheli.

4 settembre, Chiesa Valdese ( joint service culto congiunto), Predicatore locale Local Preacher David Buttita
11 settembre, Chiesa Metodista, Pastore Alison Walker
18 settembre, Chiesa Metodista (joint service culto congiunto) Diacona Deacon Paola Reggiani [Incontro del circuito a Carrara. Circuit meeting at Carrara]
25 settembre, Chiesa Metodista, Pastore Alison Walker (nb anche il giorno di “Corri la vita”, ma comunque il culto succederà nb same day as the city wide Race for Life. The service will go ahead even if nearby roads are closed and the bus service affected.)

Coffee & Chaos playgroup restarts Thursday 15th September, drop in anytime 10-12. Il gruppo gioco Caffè e Caos ri-inzia giovedì 15 settembre, fa un salto tra le 10 e le 12.

English Language Fellowship (worship, open to all, usually of varied traditions, mostly using modern worship songs, but not always!) restarts Tuesday 13th September, 7-9pm.

31 luglio / 31st July Pastora Alison Walker “Cantiamo la nostra fede” – viene con il tuo inno/canzone moderne preferito, cantiamo insieme, e spiega come l’inno ti aiuta nella fede. Come with your favourite hymn or modern song, we will sing together, and you explain how the hymn helps you in the faith.

Tuesday 21 June

Tuesday 21 June, from 7pm, barbeque on the terrace at the Church. Please bring something to go on the barbeque (note – this means an australia style barbeque, perhaps none in the states as a “grill”? you know, sausages, burgers, bits of means, generally all blackened?!). Help us celebrate the first year of the English Language Fellowship!

Summer Holidays 2011 Vacanze estive

We are still here! Florence in the summer is full of tourists but with fewer residents, but the Church stays open right through the summer. Please note the special dates and arrangements below. The Tuesday English Language Fellowship (7-9pm) and the Thursday Coffee and Chaos playgroup (10am-noon) continue as normal.

Siamo ancora qui! Firenze nell’estate e piena di turiste ma con meno residente, ma la Chiesa sta aperta tutto il tempo. Per favore vede sotto per i giorni e organizzazioni speciale. Il gruppo di lingue inglese (martedì ore 19-21) e il gruppo gioco Caffè e Caos continueranno come normale.

Sunday 5th June – all-age service “Kingdom Tales” followed by bring-and-share BBQ. Domenica 5 giorno - culto con la scuola domenicale “Racconti del Regno” e agape barbecue.

Sunday 12th June – 10.30am morning worship at the Methodist Church. 6pm ecumenical Pentecost worship at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Via Maggio Domenica 12 giugno - culto ore 10,30 alla Chiesa Metodista. ore 18,00 culto ecumenico per Pentecoste alla Chiesa Anglican St. Mark’s, Via Maggio (www.stmarksitaly.com)
